Ondarreta at Salone del Mobile Milano 2023
Few components make up the stand architecture, creating a spatial framing and product display. Early sketches and prototypes. Early sketches and prototypes. Early sketches and prototypes. The clamping device as a main element, providing the possibility of having products and components levitating. The Supra chairs stacked. Note and the Ondarreta team at the fair.
Inspired by the easy assembly and dismantling of tents, for Ondarreta’s stand at Salone del Mobile we set out to imagine a temporary, reusable structure with an inclusive, familiar atmosphere. Only a few components make up the architecture yet it offers multiple functions: a backdrop, a supporting structure, a meeting point, and a gallery for display.
Aside from the exhibited products – including the Supra family also designed by Note – the clamping device plays a starring role. Bringing complexity to what could be seen as a back-to-basics solution, the clamp becomes the playful narrator of the stand and opens up the possibilities for future iterations. A series of dynamic fabric waves are rendered by the hanging system, creating a three-dimensional effect that frames the installation and offers varying compositions.
