Weave Tiles for Kaza

Weave is a series of bold yet elegant concrete tiles inspired by the rhythmic patterns of sand as it ripples in the wind, or forms soft ridges beneath shallow water. The name is also a nod to the distinctive technique used to make traditional textiles. Available in three styles – Maldives, Kalahari and Flat – and in two sizes, Weave features gentle contouring that creates a dynamic visual when repeated. We developed oversized and exaggerated patterns using hand-sculpted clay and sand. We then undertook a casting process that would allow us to recreate tiny details. A specially formulated concrete that’s known as ‘‘liquid stone’’ gives the tiles a super-smooth finish.
