An installation that reflects the poetry of waiting.
The installation is now temporarily relocated in Nacka Strand.
Waiting Windows is a large-scale architectural art installation based on the act of waiting: a sculptural study of the ‘dead time’ between the anticipation and the event. The outdoor spatial art piece of variously sized stainless steel structures is set on a wooded hillside close to the new Nacka station.
Designed to reference waiting in the immediate sense of the word – such as waiting for a train at the station – it also represents the period of waiting during the construction of the Nacka station, a direct link for many residents to the centre of Stockholm. The installation is temporary, as is the image shown in the reflection, constantly changing in real-time to mirror the new city centre of Nacka growing into place.
The installation has been relocated temporarily now in Nacka Stand as ‘‘Windows on Water’’ for the new art festival Wall Street Stockholm.
