Didim consists of modules that can be combined in various configurations, from compact seating arrangements to expansive lounge compositions.
- Unmute
Created for Korean furniture brand Alloso, Didim is a modular sofa system that reconsiders the role of seating within contemporary domestic life. Rather than acting as a fixed focal point, the design responds to the fluid nature of modern Korean homes, where living, dining, and kitchen areas merge into a single evolving landscape.
Rooted in Korea’s floor-based living culture, Didim draws inspiration from the spatial logic of the traditional hanok. Inspired by the Madang (courtyard) and Maru (wooden floor platform) of traditional Korean houses, the system encourages openness, movement, and shared use. Low in profile and generous in proportion, the sofa creates a sense of connection to the surrounding space while offering multiple ways to gather, lounge, or retreat.
A collection of adaptable modules allows configurations to shift effortlessly, from intimate arrangements to expansive compositions. Soft geometry and carefully balanced proportions bring a quiet sense of comfort, while flexibility remains at the heart of the design.
