Stenfelt & Dahl 2012
The Soot cabinet is a furniture that stands out discretely. The outside of the cabinet is covered with pitch black stained pine veneer laid in a zig-zag pattern. Through the transparent doors the bright inside of the cabinet shimmers. The inside is covered, as in the architects desk, with a polished light pine veneer that contrasts to the outside black surface. The perforated herringbone pattern in the doors is a flirt with the pattern from the architects desk. The perforated doors makes it possible to use the bench as a TV bench or stereo bench when remote signals can pass through the perforation. The doors can be opened and pushed inside the cabinet. The shelves and the bottom of the cabinet also has holes for cable entry.
